Goals

MY GOALS



Ultimate Goal: 
Obviously to be fit and healthy! In order to be this I need to be around 60 kilos (132 pounds), which is still overweight for my height but it is where I will be happy and comfortable. Also thinking of having another baby before I get too old and I cannot be the weight I am if I want to do this.

Sub-Goals
Everyone knows that to lose weight you need to eat less and move more. What I need to do is to find ways to set myself up so I cannot fail. (I read this little tip in a Dr. Phil book a few years ago). I have to create a life that supports my goals and I need to make it easy for me to accomplish what I want.

So this is what I am am going to try:

  • Have a cooking day once a week where I make lots of healthy meals for my family to eat over the coming  days and put some in the freezer to have on hand when I don't have time to cook. This way I will always have something delicious and healthy and will not want or need to have junk or take away.
  • Find meals that we will like and will enjoy having them. I don't really like salads, so I have to create meals that have all that healthy stuff in them but in a form I enjoy. I have been making vegetables, chicken and brown rice with some nice herbs and spices and so far we are all loving it. Also a chunky vegetable soup, fruit salads, nuts and yoghurt are finding their way to our kitchen too. Awesome.
  • Order shopping online. That is right, all that healthy shit delivered right to my door
  • Become a fitness fanatic. Am still working on this. If you have any tips on motivation, developing a routine or even on a sport that is cool (and would be fun for a very short, fat person to try) send them my way) By the way, I have a treadmill and a cross trainer, boxing bag etc...I just need to get motivated and inspired to use them.
  • Keep a journal (this blog) of my progress and plans. Make it public. Scary - but I think this will help with motivating me into getting off my fat ass.
  • Find ways to keep myself inspired and motivated. I have a LOT of weight to lose so I need to keep this going..you know...forever....
